Sweet and sour chicken

This sweet and sour chicken recipe with onions and peppers uses a pre-made sauce to save time and make this family favourite budget-friendly. Ready in just 20 minutes, it's perfect for busy weeknights when you're short on time.

Preparation

1. Cook the rice to pack instructions. Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan. Add the chicken and stir-fry for 3 mins, until it starts to turn golden.

2. Add the onion and peppers and stir-fry for 5 mins, or until the vegetables are soft.

3. Pour over the sauce and simmer for 5-10 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.

4. Top up with a little water if needed. Serve over the rice.

  • 300g Easy cook long grain rice 
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 350g Tesco Irish Diced Chicken Breast Fillets
  • 250g Tesco Frozen Diced Onions 
  • 250g Tesco Sliced Mixed Peppers
  • Tesco Sweet And Sour Sauce 500G jar
  • Green salad (optional)
