Chicken and Pasta Soup

Did you know you can make soup in your slow-cooker? Give this shredded chicken and pasta soup a go.

Prep time: 20 minutes

Cook time: 240 minutes

Servings: 6 people

Preparation

With this recipe the chicken and vegetables are cooked first in the slow-cooker and then the water and pasta are added later.

Place the chicken, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, bay leaves, 1 ½ litre water, 1 tsp salt, and ¼ tsp pepper.

Cover and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours or on low for 7 to 8 hours.

Twenty minutes before you want to sit down to eat, transfer the chicken (which is now cooked) into a bowl.

Remove the onion and bay leaves form the slow cooker.

If the slow-cooker is on the low setting, turn it to high.

Add the uncooked pasta, cover, and cook until tender for 15 to 18 minutes.

Meanwhile, shred the chicken. When the pasta is cooked, stir the chicken into the soup with the parsley.

Serve with bread.
